With the political season heating-up, I thought i’d share my favorite politician’s view on political parties:

If you guessed these were the words of George Washington, You’d be right. Further,
it appears President Washington and the founding fathers were well-aware of the corruption inherent in politics. These men were visionaries, but they were realists, as well. They put the protections for us into the Bill of Rights and the Constitution BECAUSE they knew the EVIL that lurked in the hearts of all men, but ESPECIALLY politicians! To put it another way, they knew politicians were scumbags. And know what? They were right.
It won’t come as a surprise to some of you that I won’t be voting for the president, but what may come as a shock to you is that I may write-in a candidate, instead. I may vote for a person with no chance of winning, but who I believe is the BEST person for the job.
I’ll tell you this: the idea that there are only two choices in most elections means at best that the system is broken and more likely out-and-out corrupt. Having TWO choices is only slightly better than having one. And if you only have one choice–you really have NONE.
What would you do with a million dollars? If the answer is “spend it,” then you have all the makings of a great politician. If you said “save it,” you have the makings of a prepper. If you’d answer “I’ll never have to worry about that,” then you must be a prepper, because the elites don’t worry and foolish always think they’re on pull on a slot machine away from retirement.

One comment: Leave the alcohol at home or for the end of the trip. Many places don’t allow alcohol and you’ll get into trouble. Play it safe and don’t build your trip around alcohol. Alcohol will also dehydrate you and complicate things. Think twice.
Alcohol dehydrates you–a BAD thing when on the trail hiking.
