Ep 147_From The Desk of Engineer Ray 10/6/12

Today’s show is an open letter from my father, Engineer Ray, to you, my listeners.

Here it is:

We have one of the most important  elections in our lifetime coming up.  Are you ready? Are you prepared?

With our deficit at 16 trillion, we can’t afford to keep the past administration.  We are at the edge of a cliff—so let’s get ready.  Either you take the leap off of the cliff with the current administration and descend into a debt black hole from which we cannot recover, or we pull-back, claw our way away from the edge and begin the process of fixing this country. To me, it’s that simple.

All of us should have at least one year’s supply of food in stock.  I have, and I’m still getting more food, and if the present administration wins the White House again, I will take it to TWO YEARS supply of food.  Also, I will start taking more money out of the bank.

I hope you realize that better than 50% of the people have no idea what’s going on.  They think we can print all the money we need, with no consequences.  Are they in for rude awakening.

I am changing my paper money into coins.  Why? I can’t trust my government.  This is difficult for me to say since I am a war veteran and have been all around the world.  During those years, seeing for myself the dire straits most of the countries were in, I said to myself, “My country would NEVER get into messes like this…”  Guess what? We did, and here we are.

So what does changing from paper to coins do? I store nickels.  A nickel is comprised of 75% copper and 25% nickel.  At the present time, with the current spot metal prices, a nickel is worth 6.5 cents.  I also found Indian head and silver nickels as well (1942-1945).  I recall that it costs our government about ten and a half cents to make every nickel.  Do you get the point?  If you owed me $100.00, I’d want it paid in coins or get paid in cash and immediately turn it into coins.  Holding coins is a no-brainer.

By the way, the US government lost $200 million making pennies last year.  That makes a penny 1982 or older worth more than TWO cents.  Are you still interested?  What am I doing?  I worked a good relationship with a couple of tellers at local banks and I order boxes of nickels and other coins.  This particular bank orders the boxes of coins specially for me and holds them for my weekly visits.  On nickels, the minimum order is 4 boxes at $100 a box.

My coin story continues because when I check out the nickels, the coins 1964 and older have a value of 50 cents, and ones with silver content worth more.

For me, it’s a win-win proposition.  And even if the worst should happen,  I have copper, nickel, and silver in-hand.

Be a coin collector for your family’s sake.

I came across an article in a money magazine.  The article tells of the upcoming financial mess and how to prepare for it.  They have a section where subscribers ask questions.  A man who lives in Montana living 40 miles from the Canadian border stated that if things go bad here in the US, he would go across the border into extremely remote areas and hide out there.  There are many people who think like him.  The REAL question is this: why are people worried if the government and mainstream media keep telling us that nothing is wrong?  Why is gold going through the roof?  Why are people storing food?  It must be because nothing is wrong.  Do they think we are fools?  When elites like George Soros buy gold by the ton, maybe we should be worried, too.

So, again:

  1. Get at least a a year’s supply of food for your entire family.
  2. Change paper dollars into coins
  3. Stock up on fuel
  4. If possible, move away from cities and suburbs (people are making the change)
  5. Get land, as much as possible
  6. If impossible to get out of the city, have a plan to move out in an emergency, whether it be a friend, relative,  or a acquaintance.  Offer them similar safe-haven shelter if something happens in their area.
  7. Remember, time is of the essence.
  8. Pray for our country; we need all the help we can get.
